Lesbian Visibility in STEM

April brought Lesbian Visibility week, and I wanted to share some amazing lesbians in STEM


♥️ Izzy Jayasinghe is a lecturer and research lead at the University of Leeds investigating super-resolution microscopy


♥️ Leanne Pitsford is an American entrepreneur and the founder of Lesbians In Tech. In 2016 she organised the third annual LGBTQ Tech and Innovation Summit at the White House. Leanne also founded Start Somewhere, a digital agency helping nonprofits and social enterprises


♥️ Kryshawna Beard is a neuropharmacology graduate currently studying a PhD in Philadelphia. She previously studied Fourier transforms and neurotransmitter signalling


♥️ Diana Paulina Martinez Cancino is a teacher and researcher in Mexico. She is also a biomedical engineer involved in scientific dissemination


♥️ Carolyn Bertozzi is an American chemist who founded bioorthogonal chemistry. She is also an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and is the former Director of the Molecular Foundry


♥️ Emma Haruka Iwao is a Japanese computer scientist and cloud developer advocate at Google. In 2019 she calculated the world record most accurate value of pi


♥️ Megan Smith is an American engineer and technologist. She was the third Chief Technology Officer of the United States
