Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is breast cancer awareness month!

To all the guys, gals, and none binary pals out there, it is so important to know how your body feels normally, and detect any changes. It is also really important to know how to properly check yourself for anything different

💗 According to Breast Cancer Now , almost 1 in 10 women have never checked their breasts! This is such a large number considering how easy it is! Check for any changes such as crusting nipple, constant pain in your breast, armpit or collar bone, a lump, change in skin texture. Check out online for how to do a full examination

💗 If you notice any changes in your breasts, tell your doctor! Some people have been afraid of going to the GP due to coronavirus, but it's completely safe, and it's so important to get yourself checked early. Hospitals are doing there absolute best to keep everyone safe, so please go to your appointments, and get yourself checked

💗 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK, so no matter what your risk is, keep checking your breasts! Living a healthy lifestyle can reduce your risk, but there are many genetic and hereditary factors involved with breast cancer

💗 Breast cancer survival is improving. And this is largely due to earlier detection. For more information, check out the NHS website

💗 Sign up for a monthly text alert to check your boobs! CoppaFeel! have lots of information. It may seem scary, but please talk to people, encourage everyone to check, and we will beat cancer sooner!

Breast cancer awareness is really important to me, especially with my master's research. I've also been scribing for a lot of mastectomies at work, and there really is a huge difference to be seen from catching breast cancer early. Don't be scared, and get to know your boobs!
